Only what the drop box needs. No accounts, no newsletter, no tracking cookies.
The drop box
When you set a task on the Homework page, the site keeps the task, the kind you picked, and, only if you typed them, a name and a place. Those are shown on the list once Gus approves it. The site also keeps a one-way hash of your network address for an hour, purely to stop floods; the address itself is not stored. Tasks stay until Gus removes them. To have one taken down, message the Instagram account in the footer.
The pub tip box
When you tip a pub on the Pubs page, the site keeps the pub, where it is, your reason, and, only if you typed it, a name. Only Gus sees the tip; what goes on the map is the pub itself. The same one-way hash of your network address is kept to stop floods. Tips are deleted once Gus has dealt with them.
Gannin Hyem
The game keeps your best run, how many times you have made it hyem, and the words you have learned in your own browser. If you put your name on the table after a run, the site keeps the name and place you typed, the run itself (army, time, words), and a random token your browser made so your next run can replace it. An Instagram handle is kept only if you type one, is never shown on the site, and is used by Gus alone to reach you about a prize. The same one-way hash of your network address is kept to stop floods. To come off the table, message the Instagram account in the footer. Vercel Analytics counts games started, finished and posted, with no way of knowing who played.
Hosting and traffic
The site is hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard server logs (IP address, user agent, requested page) for a short period to run the service. Vercel Analytics counts page views without cookies and without identifying you.
Cookies
One cookie exists, and only on Gus’s own devices: it keeps him signed in to the desk. Nobody else gets one.
Journey posts are shown as still frames hosted here and link out to Instagram. Nothing from Instagram loads on this site until you follow a link, at which point Instagram’s own privacy policy applies.
Changes
If this site ever collects anything from you (a fan map, a newsletter, comments), this page will say exactly what, why, and how to opt out before the feature ships.
